Potyns Sports Ground

Snodland, United Kingdom

Formerly: Potyns Field, G.I. Landscapes Stadium

There is a quietness about Potyns Sports Ground that feels earned rather than designed. Situated on Paddlesworth Road in Snodland, Kent, the place has lived through its share of quiet transitions. Snodland Town F.C. moved from the Recreation Ground to this site for the 1986–87 season, and though they hold a lease secured in 2012 with the Town Council, the ground has stood firm through the decades.

The most distinct change in recent years came with the floodlights installed in 2016. The project, funded by a grant via the Premier League, brought evening matches to the ground and allowed the club to meet the standards necessary for the Southern Counties East Football League (SCEFL). Alongside the lights came a 100-seat spectator stand and new dressing rooms, transforming the evening experience for those who attended.

On the pitch, the crew recently won the SCEFL League Challenge Cup, defeating Forest Hill Park 5–0 in the final. The ground also hosted a visit from Guernsey FC in the Second Round of the FA Vase in November 2025, bringing a different kind of pressure to the local side. Not every moment has been smooth, however. A home match against Tunbridge Wells in the 2023–24 season was abandoned due to disorder, a sombre reminder that the unrest in the dressing room can spill onto the grass.

When the community gathers, whether for football or VE Day celebrations, the ground serves as a heart for Snodland. It is not a grand arena, but it is the only one in town, and it has stood firm through the decades.
