SHI Stadium

The ground in Piscataway carries its history above the stands. The structure has changed since it opened in 1994, replacing the original Rutgers Stadium that had stood for half a century. It has answered to several names since then, first Rutgers Stadium, then High Point Solutions Stadium, HighPoint.com Stadium, and finally the current SHI Stadium. The capacity grew when the stadium was expanded in 2009, pushing the number past fifty thousand.

What you see on the pitch is artificial turf, laid down in 2004 to replace the natural grass the ground had used for its first decade. The address, 1 Scarlet Knight Way, marks the entrance to a place that hosts more than just football matches. It has held commencement ceremonies and concerts, including one for Rutgers graduates in 2021. The attendance record belongs to a game against Iowa in September 2025, when the crowd filled the stands.

SHI Stadium remains the home of the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights.
