Soma Atatürk Stadyumu
Soma, Turkey
Soma Atatürk Stadyumu is not a place of spectacle. It is a municipal ground in the Kurtuluş neighbourhood of Soma that exists to host a single club: Somaspor. The club played out of here for years, running through the Regional Amateur League and the TFF Third League before moving on in late 2025. A renovation in 2014–2015, paid for from the municipal budget, added covered tribunes and pushed the capacity up to five thousand. It sits on a natural grass pitch with no running track, a layout that means the stands press close to the touchlines.
When the new Nazım Yavuz Stadyumu opened in December 2025, the move was inevitable. It is still there, owned by the Soma Municipality, waiting for a tenant who might not arrive for a long while.
The surface requires maintenance. A turf renovation took place in December 2017, keeping the grass in play for another season. The ground is a quiet place, a municipal building with a pitch.
