St. François Xavier Stadium

St. François Xavier Stadium stands in Port Louis as a compact, utilitarian venue. Inaugurated on April 5, 2009, the ground emerged during a period when FIFA began financing turf installations through the Mauritius Football Association. The playing surface is artificial grass.

While older database entries suggest a capacity of 5,000, contemporary reports from March 2026 place the figure at 2,500 spectators. It serves as the home ground for the football club AS Port-Louis 2000 and has also hosted matches for Catalan Football Club, but its reputation is anchored in the COSAFA Under-17 Championships. The 2016 final saw South Africa defeat Namibia 1–1 before winning on penalties on July 31, 2016. The following year, Zambia played against the host nation Mauritius, and in 2018, Angola defeated South Africa 1–0 in the final.

Renovation and extension works were entrusted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, though the original architect remains unnamed. The venue does not appear to have had any former names, as it opened under this title in 2009.
