Stadion Radonja
Vojnić, Croatia
Stadion Radonja sits quietly in the village of Radonja, a settlement tucked within the Municipality of Vojnić. The ground belongs to NK Petrova Gora, a club with a history that runs deeper than its current league position. The team was founded in 1946, only to be dissolved in 1995 when the local Serbian population left during the chaos of Operation Storm. Returning residents re-established the club in 2006 and began using the pitch again.
The visual character of the place is defined by its simplicity.
The stadium holds a specific place in the region's sporting landscape. It hosted a friendly international match in 2017, pitting the Football Representative Team of Serbs from Croatia against the Representative Team of Roma from Croatia. The game ended in a 1:1 draw, marking the 71st anniversary of the club. The ground stands in contrast to the nearby Stadion Kralja Petra Svačića, home to NK Vojnić '95, a club founded by the Croatian population in 1997.
The structure remains unaltered by major campaigns or modernisation. It is a working ground, maintained for the local team and the people who gather to watch them play.
