Utica University Stadium
Utica, United States
The ground at 1600 Burrstone Road sits on the edge of Utica, New York. It was built as Charles A. Gaetano Stadium, a gift from a local masonry contractor who wanted to put something permanent in the city. The stadium name remains unchanged.
It uses a sand and rubber mixture that plays like natural grass, though there is no heating system to keep it soft once the cold sets in. The upgrade in 2024 brought in a Vertex Core product, the same material used by National Football League teams and college football Power Four programs.
Capacity is 1,200 spectators. A 2002 match drew 1,120 people, though there is no official attendance record to confirm whether that was a peak. The stadium hosts football, field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse, which means it sees two different kinds of weather in one season: summer sun and winter ice, with nothing in between to protect the surface.
