Vernon T. Bradley, Jr. Stadium
Rocky Mount, United States
Vernon T. Bradley, Jr. Stadium opened in 2022 after the replacement of the old Memorial venue.
Capacity is tight at 1,000. The plan includes a permanent press box and scoreboards, but those are for the future. For now, there is a small temporary press box on the east side and a concessions stand at the main entrance.
The surface is artificial turf, chosen to handle football, soccer and lacrosse without the wear and tear of natural grass. The stadium lights allow for evening practice and games.
The ground was named after Vernon T. Bradley, Jr., the biggest athletic donor in Wesleyan history. The campaign started in spring 2020 when two major donors committed nearly $2,000,000 to the project. The first phase was completed in 2022 with the stadium lights, additional parking, and fencing around the field.
There are no grandstands here yet. For now, the Battling Bishops play their home games on this temporary setup.
