Wenchi Sports Stadium is a practical addition to a town in the Bono Region. It sits in Wenchi, the district capital, and opened its doors in late 2023. The ground was paid for by the local assembly to build a space for the community to watch football. It is a modest venue, with capacity for just over a thousand people. The surface is natural grass.
The stadium was commissioned to serve the needs of Young Apostles FC, the local side that plays in the top flight. Now they have a pitch that belongs to them. The naming of the stadium honours Nana Abrefa Kwadwo Nketia VII, the late Paramount Chief of the area. There is no confusion over the name; it was always Wenchi Sports Stadium.
It is not grand, but it is functional.
