Kazakhstan Premier League 2021/22

The National League stands as the top-tier professional men's basketball competition in Kazakhstan. Organised by the National Basketball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the league operates at the summit of the national pyramid, sitting above the Higher League and the Kazakhstan Cup. While the championship traces its roots to the post-Soviet era beginning in 1992, the specific professional structure branded as the National League was established in 2001.

The season format combines a round-robin regular season with a decisive 'Final Four' playoff stage. This final stage comprises the top three teams from the National League regular season alongside the champion of the Higher League. The Final Four determines the national champion through semi-finals and a final, typically played as best-of-three series. This structure differs from standard models by integrating the second-tier winner into the title-deciding phase, offering a unique pathway to glory for lower-division sides.

BC Astana holds the record for the most titles, having secured 11 or 12 championships. This dominance included a streak of consecutive championships from 2011–12 through 2022–23. In the 2024–25 season, BC Caspiy Aktau ended that run by defeating Astana 3–2 in the finals to claim their first title. Caspiy Aktau repeated as champions in the 2025–26 season. Other notable past champions include Barsy Atyrau with two titles and Otrar with two titles.

The league has witnessed notable performances, including a highest-scoring game in 2019 where Kaspiy defeated AGU Barsy Atyrau 125–87. A record margin of victory of 87 points was achieved by Astana over Atyrau. The competition remains distinct from the Kazakhstan Premier League, which is the top-tier football competition in the country.
