Unics Kazan have released Angel Delgado and agreed terms with David McCormack as his replacement at centre.

The club and Delgado ended the contract by mutual consent after the 31-year-old suffered a leg injury playing for the Dominican Republic against Brazil. It is the second injury for Delgado in a matter of months. In April he broke his ankle playing for Trabzonspor against Galatasaray in the Turkish league, an injury that ended his season there early. He had signed with Unics in mid-August.

McCormack, 27, spent last season at Bayern in the Euroleague, averaging 6.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.5 minutes per game.

Unics play their home fixtures at the Basket-Hall, which holds 7,000, and currently sit second in the VTB United League.
