Olympiacos forward Sasha Vezenkov opened up on the emotional impact of Thomas Walkup's move to Dubai, praising their on-court connection and respecting his decision.
"If we start with the basketball side, the truth is that Thomas could find me with his eyes closed. We had a special chemistry, and, as you already said, in terms of the number of his assists that led to my scored points, we were one of the most productive duos," Vezenkov said on the Floor Generals podcast.
The Olympiacos forward admitted the split affected him emotionally, though he said he respects his former teammate's choice to move on.
"Everyone fights for their family, their contract and themselves. So, in my view, any decision he makes deserves respect. We have been through so much together, so he will always stay in my heart," Vezenkov added.
