Rockets GM Confident Kevin Durant Will Stay

Rafael Stone, general manager of the Houston Rockets, says he expects Kevin Durant to be happy to stay put when the two sides sit down to discuss an extension after the coming season.

Durant holds a player option for the 2027/28 campaign. Stone was asked about the forward's long-term future in Houston and said the club would wait until the season finishes before opening talks, as it did last year.

"You know, when you're dealing with someone like that, you want to be respectful of his career and everything else. So we'll definitely sit down and discuss everything once the upcoming season is over. Just as we did at the end of last season. But I'm confident he'll be just as happy — if not more so — than he was last off-season. After last season ended, he made it clear to me how much he enjoyed everything and how badly he wants to stay here. And I have to say, that feeling is mutual on our side," Stone said.
