Miami have agreed a contract with Dennis Smith Jr, according to insider Ira Winderman. The 28-year-old point guard will not join the Heat at the start of training camp.
Smith is instead expected to begin his preparations for the new campaign with Miami's G-League affiliate, where he finished last season.
Dallas took Smith ninth overall in the 2017 NBA draft. His last NBA appearances came in the 2023/24 season with Brooklyn.
