The 24-year-old is recovering from a torn ACL and is likely to miss the start of the 2026/27 season. With Dante unlikely to be ready to compete for a roster spot straight away, the move allows the Knicks to retain his G League rights.
Dante spent part of last season with the College Park Skyhawks, averaging 11.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks in 16.2 minutes across four games. The 6-11 centre also played four NBA games for Atlanta, averaging 0.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in limited minutes.
