Stephen Curry has agreed a two-year extension worth $116m that ties him to Golden State through the 2028/29 season, and the deal, by all accounts, is designed to give the club room to build a roster around him for the final stretch of his career.
The Athletic reports that Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green have both told the Warriors they would like to finish their careers there. Keeping both would mean the two forwards accepting pay cuts well below their current figures.
Butler, still working his way back from a torn ACL, enters the last year of his contract on a $56.8m salary. Green declined his player option over the summer to free up cap space for a run at LeBron James; when that pursuit fell through, he returned on a one-year, $27.7m deal.
Curry's new terms give Golden State more flexibility to work out arrangements with both players, but nothing on either front has been agreed.
