Porzingis to miss start of Warriors training camp with health issue
Golden State centre Kristaps Porzingis will not travel to Hawaii for camp after a new health setback, and GM Mike Dunleavy has given no return date.
Kristaps Porzingis will miss the start of Golden State's training camp because of a health problem, general manager Mike Dunleavy said at the team's media day.
The 31-year-old centre practised on the court last week and was fully cleared to take part. He ran into trouble again yesterday and will not travel with the Warriors to Hawaii, where camp runs from 29 September to 3 October. There is no timetable for his return.
Porzingis signed a two-year extension worth $40m with the club this summer.
If the setback drags on, it may mean Golden State begin the season without a settled centre rotation, though nothing in Dunleavy's comments points to that yet.
