About the player
Alexis Pereyra came through Vélez Sarsfield's academy, joining the club's youth system as a five-year-old. The defender only formalised that long apprenticeship on paper in July 2026, when he signed his first professional contract, tying him to the club until the end of 2029.
Most of his football has come with Vélez Sarsfield II, the reserve side, where he made 37 appearances and scored three goals in the Torneo Proyección and the Copa de la SAF Reserva. He was part of the group that won the Torneo Proyección Apertura in 2025.
Since then, Pereyra has started appearing on the fringes of the first team, named among the substitutes for Liga Profesional and Copa Argentina fixtures against opponents including Newell's Old Boys, Estudiantes, Boca Juniors and River Plate. He has yet to be sent on in any of those matches, so his senior debut is still to come.
As a graduate of the club's academy, he arrives at senior level without a transfer fee attached to his name.
