About the player
Santander started out at Tierra de Talentos in his native Puerto Asís before a spell at Jamundí Fútbol Club and a move into the Deportes Tolima academy in 2018. He joined Barranquilla FC, where he signed his first professional contract and made his senior debut in a goalless draw against Atlético Huila. He grew into the club's first-choice goalkeeper, making around 83 appearances across all competitions.
In July 2025, Barranquilla sent him out on a season-long loan to Fortaleza CEIF, a move that runs until the end of June 2026. He kept four clean sheets in eleven league appearances in his first season there.
Santander's only international experience so far has come at youth level, having represented Colombia at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup and in a friendly with the U-23 side in 2023.
