Markhus Lacroix

Long before Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC handed him a shirt, Markhus "Duke" Lacroix built his game at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2011 and Offensive Player of the Year in 2013. That college form carried him into a lower-league career that moved club to club almost every season: Indy Eleven, where he scored three goals in 34 appearances and won the 2016 NASL Goal of the Year, then Orange County SC, cut short by a season-ending knee injury after just five matches. He rebuilt at Reno 1868 FC, contributing 4 goals and 11 assists across 59 appearances, before spells at Charlotte Independence and Sacramento Republic FC.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, who signed him in December 2022, gave him the platform for the most productive stretch of his career, culminating in the 2024 USL Championship title. That form fed directly into his international breakthrough: capped for Haiti for the first time on 8 September 2023 against Cuba, Lacroix has since become a regular for Les Grenadiers, gathering 16 caps and three goals, including strikes against Barbados, Sint Maarten and New Zealand. He played a key role as Haiti won the 2024–25 CONCACAF Nations League B, and his form earned him selection for both the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup squads.

A left-footed full-back by trade, Lacroix has built his career on durability rather than a single defining moment — adapting to new systems, and turning steady performances at club level into a settled place in Haiti's back line.
