N. Edwards

Nathaniel Edwards took the long way to the Canadian Premier League. Rather than moving straight into a professional academy, he came through Brampton East SC and Bolton Wanderers SC before joining Vaughan Azzurri, then spent his college years across the border, playing for Purdue Fort Wayne before a senior-season move to Syracuse, where he was named to the ACC All-Academic Team and picked up Academic All-District honours. A return to Vaughan Azzurri in League1 Ontario in 2023 kept his name in front of professional scouts.

Toronto FC signed him to their second team in February 2024, and he answered with 24 appearances and two goals in MLS Next Pro that year. That form earned him a full MLS contract with Toronto FC by September 2024, though first-team opportunities were limited enough that he went back out on loan to Toronto FC II for the 2025 season, where he added 25 appearances and three goals.

Edwards left Toronto on a free transfer in February 2026 to join Cavalry FC. Through the opening months of the 2026 Canadian Premier League season he has made 17 league appearances and scored five goals. He plays as a left-footed midfielder, comfortable off the left flank, and has represented Canada at youth level without yet earning a senior cap.
