Hassan Dakhel wears the white and green of Al-Gharraf, and an Iraq shirt besides.
Al-Gharraf was founded in 1994. In 2021–22, second place in the Third Division's Dhi Qar group brought promotion to the Second Division. In 2024–25, they finished runners-up in the Iraqi Premier Division League, and with it a first-ever place in the Iraq Stars League , the country's top flight.
The club has outgrown its old home along the way. Al-Gharraf once played in front of around 5,000 at their own Al-Gharraf Stadium; they now use the Al-Nasiriya International Stadium, which holds roughly 20,000.
Al-Gharraf have no league titles or cup wins to their name.
