Haenna

Paolo Biondo made more than 200 appearances for the Italian national team. The late 1990s, when Enna's yellow-and-greens reached Serie A1 and went all the way to the final of the Coppa Italia in 1997–98, only for HC Al.Pi. Prato to deny them. The defeat still carried them into Europe, into the Cup Winners' Cup, where Runar Sandefjord ended the run.

The club traces back further than that, to 1975, when it was formed as Libertas Haenna in the wake of a provincial phase of the Giochi della Gioventù six years earlier. Since then it has spent most of its life climbing back toward the level it touched in 1997, promoted and relegated in turns between Sicily's lower divisions and Serie A2, which it has won five times, most recently in 2025–26. A relegation to Serie B in 2016, brought on by financial trouble, forced another rebuild; the club won Serie B in 2019–20, though the pandemic cancelled that year's promotion, and it had to earn the return to Serie A2 again afterward.

Matches against CUS Palermo and Mascalucia are billed simply as the derby. Home games are played in front of a few hundred people at most — the Palazzetto dello Sport di Enna Bassa holds around 350 — a scale that has not stopped the club reaching a Coppa Italia final or the Playoff Scudetto quarter-finals in 1998–99.

The 2025–26 Serie A Silver title has now sent Haenna back up to Serie A Gold for 2026–27.
