Saigon Heat

The closest of the five came in 2019, when Tavarion Nix carried them past Can Tho Catfish 3–2 and picked up Finals MVP for it. By 2022 and 2024 the margins had grown into sweeps, first over Hanoi Buffaloes, then over Can Tho again. Kentrell Barkley's run in 2023 stood out even by that standard — he took Finals MVP against Nha Trang Dolphins and, in one game that season, scored 51 points.

Saigon Heat entered the ASEAN Basketball League in 2012 as one of its founding teams, Vietnam's first entry into professional regional basketball, and finished last in both of its opening two seasons before working up to the semifinals in 2014 and again in 2015–16. A championship there never came; the closest was runner-up at the 2023 ABL Invitational, beaten in the final by Hong Kong Eastern.

In 2016, Saigon Heat pushed for the creation of the Vietnam Basketball Association and joined as a charter team. Home games are played at the CIS Arena, known locally as the "Fire Pan," in front of crowds capped at 1,300.

Five VBA championships. One club has all of them.
