Sotra SK

Kristoffer Stava put Sotra SK on the scoreboard against a top-flight side in the 2019 Norwegian Cup, scoring against FK Haugesund before the club went further still four years later, reaching the third round in 2023 and falling 0–2 to Vålerenga.

Sotra was still called Idrettslaget Øygard when it took shape on 7 June 1945, in Fjell, the municipality that has since been folded into Øygarden. The club has stayed outside the top two tiers of Norwegian football, and its clearest mark on the table came in 2018, when it won the 3. divisjon, Avdeling 4, and went up to the 2. divisjon.

In 2019 the club was asked to give up that identity for good, in a proposed merger with Nest-Sotra that would have created a single Øygarden FK. Sotra said no, and the two clubs have kept meeting as rivals ever since, alongside IL Sandviken, a regular opponent in the same divisions.

Home games are played in all-blue, away in all-white, in front of no more than 400 people at Straume Stadion. The club has sent players on rather than kept them: Jonas Tillung Fredriksen and Sander Marthinussen both moved on to SK Brann, the kind of departure that has come to define what Sotra does for the players who pass through it before the bigger clubs come calling.
