The 90. Yıl Spor Salonu in Yalova marks the ninetieth anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
The hall does not shout. Inside, the light falls evenly across the parquet floor.
The arena has seen its share of travel. It hosted a European Wheelchair Basketball League match, where the YOSK team took on the London Titans. It has also seen the Turkish Women's Futsal National Team, who faced off against the Tajikistan squad in February.
Suat Kılıç, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, opened the doors in March 2014. The facility was built under the direction of the ministry, with METE PLASTİK handling the equipment.
The hall is not famous. It will not fill a guidebook. It is a place where local teams play volleyball and basketball, where young players take their first steps on a proper court.
