Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium
Doha, Qatar
Formerly: Duhail Stadium, Lekhwiya SC Stadium
The ground in the Duhail district sits on a hybrid surface, a mix of natural grass and synthetic fibres. It opened in 2013 with a draw between Lekhwiya SC and Al Khor. The four covered stands hold just over ten thousand people, and the record attendance for a quarter-final in 2024 was lower than that ceiling.
A mosque is tucked inside the main stand. The stadium was built by Al Khayyat Contracting & Development, with the architectural work handled by Perkins Eastman and their partners.
Al Duhail SC call it home. They played there under the name Lekhwiya SC before the rebrand, and the venue kept that name for a time too. Al-Jaish SC used it briefly during the 2015/16 season. The facility has hosted major tournaments, including the final of the 2019 Arabian Gulf Cup where Bahrain beat Saudi Arabia.
On the day of the U-23 Asian Cup knockout stages, the stands were not full. The capacity is sometimes listed as 10,000, but the official number is higher.
