ARMEX ENERGY Sportcentrum
Děčín, Czechia
Formerly: MAROLDOVKA
The first thing you notice at the ARMEX ENERGY Sportcentrum is the floor. It is a wooden parquet surface. The building stands on Maroldova 1279/2 in Děčín, a compact hall built in 1981 that has seen two major rebuilds. The original structure was known locally as MAROLDOVKA, a name that stuck through the decades until the 2004 renovation.
That reconstruction changed the interior completely. It established the current capacity of 1,200 spectators and brought the venue to its modern standard. The interior is defined by steep seating tiers that place fans close to the action. The space is efficient, with no wasted corners.
The hall is distinct from the town’s football ground, Stadion FK Řezuz Děčín, which sits five kilometres away on Ve Vilách 1020/19. While the football stadium opens to the sky, this arena is enclosed. The facility is currently undergoing another phase of renovation, with work scheduled to finish by October 2026. This project will include new locker rooms and fan facilities, a long-term investment in the club’s infrastructure.
Inside, the lighting is bright and even, designed to highlight the movement of the ball rather than the architecture.
When the team plays at home, the arena is small enough for every seat to feel essential. The venue is not a landmark in Děčín, but for those who follow the sport, it is a familiar place.
