Chase Center
San Francisco, United States
The Chase Center sits in the Mission Bay neighbourhood of San Francisco. The building opened in 2019, replacing the Oakland Arena in a move that shifted the Golden State Warriors from their home for nearly five decades.
Inside, the hardwood maple floor is laid using the QuickLock Fusion portable system. Capacity is set at 18,064 for games, a number that has not changed since the doors first opened. During the 2022 NBA Finals, the Warriors ended a barren spell against the Boston Celtics, winning the series at home; a championship banner was later unveiled in a pregame ceremony on October 14.
The building’s architecture draws on a private financing model, funded entirely by owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber. A grand opening concert featuring Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony drew roughly 16,000 attendees, setting the tone for a venue that now hosts nearly 200 events a year.
Chase Center opened in 2019, shifting the Golden State Warriors from Oakland after nearly fifty years.
