Chemkostav Arena

Built between April 2008 and September 2009, it opened its doors in the same autumn, designed to host handball, basketball and volleyball. The structure carries the name of CHEMKOSTAV, a.s., the main contractor responsible for the build, while the architectural vision came from Ing. arch. Ján Jakubčík and Ing. Radoslav Harbuľák. The original investment stood at 8.16 million EUR, a sum that included VAT and covered the initial seating for 1,212 spectators alongside 600 standing places.

Today the capacity is listed at 1,800. The hall serves as the home for the handball club HK IUVENTA Michalovce, staging matches in the EHF Women's Champions League and EHF European Cup. It also welcomes basketball and volleyball events, plus concerts featuring acts like Desmod and Rednex. A significant renovation took place in 2023, costing roughly 410,000 EUR, partly funded by the Fund for the Support of Sport. That work focused on acoustics, installing diffusive panels to cut reverberation, and fixing the roof and waterproofing while modernising safety systems. The highest documented attendance remains 1,300 for a handball match in 2011.

The arena is located at Karola Kuzmányho 24, though the address is sometimes cited as Špitálska 1259. It has no former names; it has been Chemkostav Arena since the start. The official website is www.chemkostavarena.sk.
