Clayton Wood Training Ground
Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom
Formerly: Michelin Training Ground, Michelin Sports Ground
The ground does not advertise itself. Clayton Wood sits quietly in the Trent Vale district of Stoke-on-Trent. Before the club bought the land in 2010, it was the Michelin Training Ground, a site where the tyre company had let the team play for years. Now it belongs entirely to Stoke City FC.
The complex is not built for spectacle. Eight pitches cover the site, a mix of natural grass and hybrid surfaces that allow play in all conditions. The main stand holds a thousand seats. There is no official attendance record for the place.
The club poured money into the site. A £12 million project finished in February 2026 gave the first team a new pavilion. Inside, there is a hydrotherapy pool and a cryotherapy chamber, spaces where players recover in silence.
