Halle Bérégovoy
Mondeville, France
Built in 1999, it is an indoor arena that has hosted the US Mondeville Basket team since 2000. It is located at 2-6 Rue Calmette, near the Médiathèque Quai des Mondes library.
What distinguishes the space is its adaptability. The main court features a natural wood parquet floor, a surface that has seen far more than just basketball. In January 2025, the arena hosted the first international FIP Bronze padel tournament, requiring a temporary installation of padel courts over the basketball parquet. It has also hosted the Foosball World Championship.
Seating is arranged with one fixed stand and three retractable stands, providing a precise capacity of 2,061. The venue was constructed on land belonging to the Dauphin family, following a municipal decision in late 1997. It was officially opened in 1999, marking its first match on September 18, 1999, when USO Mondeville played against Nice in the French women's basketball league.
There have been no structural renovations recorded. It does not serve as a home ground for handball, nor does it possess a former name; it has consistently been referred to as Halle Bérégovoy or Halle des sports Pierre Bérégovoy since its opening. Pierre Bérégovoy was the Prime Minister of France who died in 1993, giving the hall its name.
