Hanbury Park

Hanbury Park sits at the end of Allen Road, a quiet stretch of Haywards Heath in West Sussex. The ground is straightforward: a single main stand, flanked by open banks of grass and hard-standing where spectators gather. A six-a-side training pitch with artificial turf sits alongside the main field.

The stadium has been the home of Haywards Heath F.C. since 1952, when it replaced Victoria Park. It was built through a community effort, funded by supporters and the public, with a loan from the Football Association. The opening ceremony involved cutting a blue and white ribbon, followed by an inaugural Metropolitan League match against Horsham, which ended in a goalless draw. The event included a fete with a donkey football match and tug-of-war, attended by over 5,000 people.

Over the decades, the ground has changed shape. The covered terracing along one side was removed, leaving the main stand as the primary covered structure. The capacity is listed as 5,000, though the seated portion is smaller. The remainder of the accommodation consists of open banks. In recent years, the stadium has undergone work to meet Isthmian League standards, including the addition of "Simmo's Cafe," created from derelict "Pilgrim Huts" unused since the pandemic.

The ground was originally known as Hanbury Stadium or Hanbury Park. It has carried sponsor names in recent years, most recently the HSEnergy Group Stadium. The playing surface is natural grass, maintained for regular league matches. The stadium does not host major professional concerts; notable events by Katherine Jenkins were held at the previous venue, Victoria Park.

Today, the ground retains a simple, functional character. The main stand provides shelter, while the open banks allow for flexible accommodation.
