Kakyeka Stadium
Mbarara, Uganda
Kakyeka War Memorial Stadium stands in the Kamukuzi Division. The ground has lacked even a proper perimeter wall for years, though a construction project was finally approved in 2023.
In 2018, the Football Association of Uganda (FUFA) issued a temporary ban on matches played on the pitch due to its condition. Today, it hosts regular Uganda Premier League fixtures and rounds of the FUFA Cup, serving as a home for local rivals Nyamityobora FC as well.
What matters is the night Ray G took the stage. On November 1, 2025, a concert drew over twenty thousand people into the space.
The UPDF and the National Housing and Construction Corporation are now tasked with fixing what time has worn down, but for now, the pitch remains where it has always been: central, open, and waiting for the next kick-off.
