Mehta Stadium
Lugazi, Uganda
Mehta Stadium is located in Buikwe District, Uganda. Its identity is tied to the Mehta Group of Companies, which developed the site for sport and community use. The ground has hosted local football for years, most notably serving as a home venue for URA FC, the Uganda Revenue Authority team, on several occasions since the mid-2010s. They played there through the 2016/2017 season and again in 2023, facing sides such as KCCA FC and Express FC on the grass surface.
The stadium’s calendar shifted in March 2024, when renovations began to transform the site into a cricket facility ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The work forced URA FC to relocate their home matches to a new facility in Najjembe, Mabira. Before that, Lugazi FC used the ground during their time in the Buganda Regional League and a brief spell in the FUFA Big League.
Capacity figures vary between sources, with estimates ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 spectators. The exact date of the stadium's opening remains unclear. There is no formal street address; the venue is generally located around the Lugazi Round About. A notable match took place in April 2023, when URA FC secured a 2-0 victory over KCCA FC, and another in January 2020, where they won 4-0 against Lugazi Municipal in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
