Nissan Arena
Brisbane, Australia
Formerly: Queensland State Netball Centre
Nissan Arena in Brisbane does not announce itself to the city. Hansen Yuncken built the structure and Thomson Adsett designed it, so the lines are straight and the spaces feel deliberate. It holds 5,000 people for a netball match, a number that keeps the crowd within shouting distance of the court. The Queensland Firebirds play their Super Netball games here, and the basketball team, the Brisbane Bullets, called it 'The Armoury' during their time in the National Basketball League until 2024. The two sports share the same polished floor and the same lighting rig, though the basketballers are due to return for a game in November 2026.
Concerts and community events use the space on weekends, but the main purpose is sport.
