Palestra Sportive "Mizahir Isma"

The Palestra Sportive Mizahir Isma sits in the city known as Rahovec, or Orahovac depending on who you ask, though the building itself has no former names. It is not a football ground. It is an indoor arena, a box for basketball and handball, opened in 2019. That is its primary distinction from the outdoor pitches that dominate the region’s sporting landscape.

The capacity is a figure that shifts. The Albanian Wikipedia entry for KB Rahoveci notes two thousand five hundred seats, but with standing room, the total reaches four thousand. The surface is wood or synthetic, standard for the sport, but it does not belong to the natural grass or artificial turf categories used for outdoor matches. There is no official website for the venue or the former basketball club, KB Rahoveci, which dissolved in September 2023 after financial collapse following relegation.

The arena has hosted international action beyond local league games. A UEFA Futsal EURO 2026 qualifier between Albania and Denmark took place here. The handball club KH Rahoveci, the men’s champions of Kosovo, call this place home now. The basketball team had its own moments, winning the First League in 2016/17 and reaching the runners-up spot in the Superleague the following season, even making a run in the 2019-20 FIBA Europe Cup.

The location is near Sheshi i Qytetit, the City Square, though a specific street address is not recorded. The country code XK appears on some records, a user-assigned identifier rather than an official ISO standard, but the building stands in the Gjakova District regardless of the letter used.
