Parc des Sports
Annecy, France
The Parc des Sports sits lower than the surrounding road, giving it its local nickname of "La Cuvette". **The hybrid grass** that covers the pitch was laid in October 2025, replacing the natural turf that had served the ground for decades.
The architecture has shifted with the fortunes of its tenants. Wooden benches were pulled up in 2010 when Évian Thonon Gaillard FC needed to meet the requirements of the second tier, but the most visible change was the modular stand added to the south curve after their promotion to Ligue 1. That structure was dismantled and sold when the club folded in 2016. The capacity remains listed at 15,660.
A major tournament brought the 1998 IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics to the track, alongside several French national championships. The 2013 Coupe de France final also took place here, drawing a crowd to watch Paris Saint-Germain face Montpellier HSC. More recently, the ground has hosted domestic league fixtures for FC Annecy, though the atmosphere shifted after a controversial disallowed goal in the 2023 semi-final against Toulouse FC sparked unrest among the supporters. The complex still includes its original swimming pool and tennis halls.
