Polideportivo Urbano COP

The Polideportivo Urbano COP in Luque is a multi-purpose gymnasium that serves the Paraguay Olympic Committee. The name COP Arena Óscar Harrison appears on the banners in the stands, a dedication to a former committee president rather than a claim of fame for the building.

Inside, the decor is simple. The seating rises in tiers, but unlike a football bowl, the distance from the floor to the upper deck is short enough that spectators feel close to the action. The court itself is marked with purple paint around the key, a detail that sets it apart from the standard yellow or blue bases found in many arenas.

The venue opened as part of a larger complex in 2017, funded by a significant investment in the region. It has hosted international competitions, from the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to the South American Games, yet its daily life belongs to local basketball. The Capiatá Bulls play their home fixtures here, and the capacity for these matches sits at roughly 3,300 spectators. When the arena is full for a Liga Nacional de Básquetbol (LNB) tie, the proximity of the crowd to the players creates a different dynamic than a large football stadium. The noise stays in the room.

The building is not a temple of football, and it does not host the major European finals. The surface is a standard indoor court, suitable for futsal and basketball, and the atmosphere is shaped by the proximity of the fans rather than the scale of the architecture.
