Rise Sparekasse Arena

Svendborg, Denmark

The structure at Ryttervej 70 is not a stadium, but a multi-purpose indoor arena that opened in early 2025. It does not look like the old Svendborg Idrætshal it replaced. There is no grandstand, no seating bowl, and no open sky. The venue was built as a joint venture between the local basketball club and the handball team, GOG. The architects were C&W Arkitekter, and the project was delivered by Gråkjær Erhverv. The arena covers a floor area of 3,580 square metres. While the older hall held just under 2,000 people, the new facility has a capacity of 4,500. It plays host to basketball matches and handball games, both played on an indoor sports floor rather than natural grass. The official address is Ryttervej 70, 5700 Svendborg, and the website lists it as Rise Sparekasse Arena. The construction cost was 82 million Danish kroner, a figure that reflects the scale of the replacement. The old hall has been superseded by this newer, larger facility.
