Rustaq Stadium

The Rustaq Stadium was built to hold 17,000 people. It opened in 2019. The ground is not particularly famous for its architecture, but it is distinct in its purpose: it belongs to the Al-Rustaq Club and serves the wider community of Al Batinah South.

What matters is the setting. The stadium is not enclosed by high walls or dense urban sprawl. From the perimeter, you can see the palm groves that define the region and the mountains that rise in the distance, indifferent to the goals scored below. The pitch itself is natural grass, kept in good condition despite the local heat. It is a functional space, designed for the Oman Professional League and the Sultan Qaboos Cup, where the semi-final between Al Suwaiq and Al Ittihad took place in 2021.

The capacity is generous for a town of this size, yet the atmosphere remains grounded. It is not a temple of football, just a place where the game is played under the same sky that covers the fort. The stands are open, allowing the wind to move freely through the seating area. There is no history of name changes or sponsorship deals here; the facility has simply existed since its inauguration on September 13, 2019, when it hosted the Oman Super Cup. It is a quiet corner of Omani football, not defined by records, but by its steady presence.
