The exact year of the building’s completion remains unknown, and the original architect is not recorded in available sources. The only significant structural addition in recent years is the Zweifeldhalle, a two-court hall built by Holzbau Kühlborn in 2015, which stands as a separate entity nearby. The main hall remains a quiet corner of Melsungen, where the table goes out of the window in these games only if the local youth teams happen to be playing.
