Antigua and Barbuda beat Anguilla 5-0 in the CONCACAF Nations League, League C stage on 26 September 2026. The hosts opened the scoring within a minute, Christopher Douglas finding the net in the first minute, and Anguilla never recovered. By then it was clear this would not be a contest, though the visitors kept trying. The result extends a run of defeats for both sides, but only in one direction.
Antigua were ruthless from the start. Douglas struck again in the 21st minute after Dion Pereira's goal in the 16th, and the hosts never looked back. D'Andre Bishop added a fourth in the 35th minute, with K George making it five in the 43rd. To be fair, Anguilla's defence was stretched from the opening whistle, and the visitors could not cope with the pace of Antigua's attack.
There were changes around half-time, with five substitutions recorded in quick succession. Antigua brought on Germain Hughes in the 51st minute, followed by Daryl Massicot, Carlton Carty, and a double change for Christopher Douglas and Dion Pereira in the 71st minute. The visitors saw Keon Kevin Greene sent off in the 72nd minute, and Shalon Knight followed in injury time, leaving Anguilla to finish with nine men.
Antigua dominated every sector of the pitch. They held 74 per cent of possession and registered 129 attacks compared with 98 for Anguilla. Ten shots found the target, six went astray, and eight were blocked. The visitors managed only two shots on target from five attempts off target, with one blocked. And here's the thing — zero big chances were created by either side, yet Antigua still found a way to score five times.
The result leaves Antigua and Barbuda in a stronger position after recent setbacks. They lost 1-0 to Aruba on 23 September and had previously fallen to Guyana and Honduras. Anguilla's run of poor form continues, with defeats to Dominica and the British Virgin Islands among their last five outings. This match, at least, was one where the hosts made their superiority count.
