The scoreline tells only half the story — Grenada had already handed Cuba an early advantage through their own goalkeeper's error before the break.
The turning point came in the nineteenth minute when Greg Sandiford bundled the ball into his own net, a moment that shifted the match entirely. By then Grenada were already on the back foot, having made a substitution just two minutes earlier for Lucas Akins. The home side never recovered their composure after the mistake, and the visitors pressed forward with purpose.
Cuba made their dominance clear through possession, controlling 65 per cent of the ball compared to Grenada's 35. They registered eight shots on target and created opportunities, though they failed to convert them into big chances.
