Alex Jay Scott

Alex Scott's introduction to first-team football came far from the Championship or Premier League grounds where he would later make his name. Born in Guernsey, he came through Southampton's youth system before joining Guernsey FC in August 2019, and made his senior debut for the club that same month, becoming its youngest ever player. A free transfer took him to Bristol City in January 2020, where he scored his first professional goal against Nottingham Forest in October 2021.

The 2022–23 season confirmed that rise: Scott won the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season award, was named Bristol City's Player of the Year, took the division's Young Player of the Month for February, and was included in the EFL Championship Team of the Season. Wolverhampton Wanderers made bids of up to £22 million, which Bristol City turned down. Bournemouth eventually signed him in August 2023 for a club-record fee for Bristol City, a package reported at £25 million.

His first season on the south coast was disrupted by injury. He missed the start of the 2023–24 campaign with a knee problem picked up before leaving Bristol City, then suffered an MCL injury against Manchester City in October 2023, followed a year later by a meniscus tear that required surgery.

Internationally, Scott has been capped by England at youth level, including the England Under-19 side that won the 2022 European Championship, where he scored an equalising goal with his first touch in the semi-final against Italy. He later added a European Under-21 title with England in 2025. He was also named Channel Islands Sports Personality of the Year in 2024.
