About the player
Avazbek Ulmasaliev came up through the youth ranks at Neftchi Fergana and made his senior debut there in 2016. He stayed until 2018, when Neftchi were relegated, though that same season he collected an Uzbekistan Cup winners' medal with the club. In 2019 he moved to Lokomotiv Tashkent, where he spent two seasons before joining Bunyodkor on loan in 2021. A brief, complicated spell followed in January 2022, when he signed for Pakhtakor only to return to Bunyodkor after a disagreement over terms; he later made that move permanent.
At Bunyodkor, Ulmasaliev was handed the captain's armband for the 2023 season, a mark of the standing he had earned at the club. When his contract expired, he joined AGMK on a free transfer in January 2024.
His run in Uzbekistan's colours has come later than his club career. Ulmasaliev made his senior international debut in 2025 and has since been capped twice for the national team. He was named in the squad for the 2025 CAFA Nations Cup, which Uzbekistan went on to win, and has also been included in the country's plans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.
