About the player
Aleks Bozhev left CSKA 1948 for Slavia Prague in January 2025 for a reported seven-figure sum, on a contract running until 2029.
He grew up in Plovdiv and started out at Botev Plovdiv. In 2019 he moved to the CSKA 1948 academy. The route to the first team was not direct. He played third-tier football for the CSKA Sofia reserve side in 2022–23, with 23 league appearances. He then spent 2023–24 on loan at Litex Lovech in the Vtora Liga, where he played 31 league matches and two in the cup.
In May 2024 he joined CSKA 1948 permanently. His first season there was spread across three levels: five appearances for the third team, 11 for the second team and eight league games plus one cup match for the first team. The Slavia offer followed within months.
In Prague he played for Slavia's B team in the Czech National Football League during 2025–26. In 2026 he went back to CSKA 1948 on loan and has made six league appearances since.
Bozhev has been part of Bulgaria's youth national teams at four age groups: 11 caps for the under-17s, four for the under-18s, six for the under-19s and five so far for the under-21s.
