About the player
When IFK Norrköping wanted Aleksander Opsahl, they had to work for it. The move from Arendal Fotball, confirmed on 25 March 2026 on a four-year contract, followed nearly two months of negotiations in which Arendal turned down several bids before a fee was finally agreed.
Opsahl's path there ran through the lower tiers of Norwegian football. He came up through Kløfta IL before moving into the Ullensaker/Kisa youth setup, and he made his senior debut for the club in 2021 in the 1. Divisjon, playing against sides such as Grorud IL, KFUM Oslo and Sandnes Ulf. He stayed on with Ullensaker/Kisa and its reserve side through the 2024 season, and his numbers there tracked a young defender settling into regular football: 20 league appearances and a goal in 2023, followed by 17 appearances in 2024. In January 2025 he left for Arendal Fotball, a stop that lasted little more than a year before Norrköping came calling.
At 182 cm and right-footed, Opsahl arrives in Sweden with only one senior club move behind him, but a transfer saga that suggested Arendal did not let him go easily.
