About the player
Alim Öztürk was born in Alkmaar in the Netherlands and began his senior career at SC Cambuur, where he won the Eerste Divisie in 2011–12 and helped the club up into the Eredivisie. A move to Trabzonspor followed, though he did not make a league appearance for the first team there, and he spent the rest of that spell out on loan at 1461 Trabzon.
It was in Scotland that he made his name. He scored a 40-yard strike against Hibernian that proved so popular with supporters that they named a beer after it. He captained the club in 2015–16 and picked up their Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards.
Spells at Ümraniyespor and Samsunspor followed, and he has been with Iğdır Belediyespor since 2024.
