Atanas Kabov

Atanas Kabov's biggest goalscoring season came far from Sofia's biggest clubs. In 2021/22, playing for Septemvri Sofia in the Bulgarian Second League, he finished as the club's top scorer with 30 goals, a return that helped the team win the championship and earn promotion to the First League.

Kabov, a right-footed midfielder from Plovdiv, worked his way up through Vekta Plovdiv and Chavdar Etropole before joining Levski Sofia's academy in 2010, where he stayed in the youth system until 2017. His path into senior football went through loan spells rather than a settled run in Levski's first team: Botev Vratsa, Tsarsko Selo and Vitosha Bistritsa each had him on loan between 2017 and 2020, while his appearances for Levski itself stayed limited to four league matches and one cup game.

A move to Slavia Sofia in 2020 brought two goals in seven league matches before he joined Septemvri Sofia the following year, the club with which he enjoyed his most productive spell in front of goal. He continued scoring regularly for Septemvri through to 2023, then signed for Hebar Pazardzhik. A brief stint in Turkey with Sakaryaspor in early 2025 produced 11 appearances before he returned to Bulgaria in September, signing a three-year contract with Arda Kardzhali on a free transfer.

Kabov has represented Bulgaria at every youth level from U17 to U21, scoring at each of the U17, U18 and U19 stages, though he has not yet been capped by the senior national team.
