Benjamin Garuccio

Ben Garuccio made his senior debut for Melbourne City in 2012, before a mutually agreed release sent him to Adelaide United on a free transfer in 2016. It was there that he was at the centre of a notable VAR moment, in November 2017 against Western Sydney Wanderers, when a yellow card for a high tackle on Roly Bonevacia was reviewed and upgraded to a straight red.

A free transfer took him to Scotland in July 2018, when he joined Heart of Midlothian. His time in Edinburgh was cut short by a cruciate ligament injury suffered in training in March 2019, which kept him out for around ten months. He returned to Australia in October 2020, rejoining Melbourne City on a free transfer, before that contract was mutually terminated in July 2021 and he moved on to Western United. When Western United went into hibernation, Garuccio signed for Sydney FC in September 2025 on a two-year free transfer.

Garuccio has represented Australia at under-20 level, earning 17 caps, as well as at under-23 level, and was included in senior Socceroos squad lists in 2018 without going on to win a senior cap.
